CARNA is now CRNA

Are you planning to become a Registered Nurse (RN)? Now candidates need to refer to the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Prior to 2022 both the College and the Association were under the name of College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). With the recent changes, RNs must be registered with CRNA to practice. For candidates with degrees from outside of Canada, the application process with CRNA can be found under the Internationally Educated Applicants in the ‘Join the Register’ section of their webpage.

If you are an internationally educated nurse and need help understanding the licensing process to become an RN, make an appointment to speak with one of our career coaches. You can also read more about the licensing process in our Registered Nurse occupation profile.

If you are at the stage of preparing for the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN) you may be able to join our exam preparation study group. Call our office to learn more.
